Abstract

This research investigates the scientific and practical features of incorporating coaching and mentoring methods into the instruction of secondary school students studying the works of Kazakh poets and writers, as integral components of the educational curriculum under the subject “Kazakh literature”. In the dissemination of moral values, literature interfaces with various domains such as coaching, mentoring, psychology, personal development, and business. The investigation is grounded in an analysis of focus group interviews conducted to elucidate the “life scenarios” crafted by participants during a month-long coaching and mentoring course. Additionally, it explores the feasibility of integrating literature into education through innovative methods. The findings of the research suggest that the implementation of coaching and mentoring techniques in the instruction of Kazakh literature contributes significantly to students' goal attainment. Remarkably, the utilization of coaching and mentoring methodologies for teaching literary works has not been employed before in domestic educational settings. The article furnishes an illustrative instance showcasing the application of coaching and mentoring methods by educators in the context of teaching various school subjects. In conclusion, the study underscores the transformative potential of incorporating coaching and mentoring strategies into the teaching of Kazakh literature, offering both theoretical insights and practical applications for educators and researchers in the field.
